Biggles replied to Leon Iusitini's discussion Will Freeview work with only a SKY aerial and an old Sony LCD TV?
"Your TV won't work on a Dish antenna. It has a UHF tuner so needs a UHF antenna. Yes there are new TVs (Samsung and Panasonic I believe)  that have both Sat and UHF Tuners. You just need to shop around. You could also get a Sat Freeview…"

"The problem is that the EPG is only a guide and can be very unreliable at times. Plus it isn't updated often enough which sometimes causes errors. I think you'll find it just isn't sophisticated enough to handle your task. Timer…"

Biggles replied to Keith Robert Allnatt's discussion I cannot get Freeview - what needs to happen
"Correct. If your TV has no Satellite Tuner you will need a Satellite STB to receive Freeview However, as you already have Sky HD+, you already have access to nearly all the Freeview channels through Sky so unless you really need to watch the few…"

Biggles replied to Lorilei's discussion Unable to receive TVNZ channels
"You could try moving your indoor antenna to a better location, ideally near a window with direct line of sight to the Tx, but I'd definitely recommend an outdoor antenna. Also make sure your antenna is setup for vertical and not horizontal…"

Biggles replied to Lorilei's discussion Unable to receive TVNZ channels
"Check your signal strength. You will probably find it is rather low on the channels you are receiving in which case you need to install a UHF antenna on your roof. Indoor antennae are only satisfactory in very strong signal areas."

Biggles replied to AB's discussion Disconnecting sky - what to do now?

I couldn't do an autotune on the T2200 cos I had no service! Anyway I just whizzed out and bought an HDMI lead and it worked. The guy at Noel Leeming told me none of the FreeviewPlus-approved recorders come with HDMI cables, which is a bit rich when they sell for $400 upwards. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Biggles. So why does the Aerial Box come with AV leads and no HDMI cable?
