Biggles replied to Cindy Steele's discussion Loss of TV3 and TV3+1
"Loss of channels like this is almost always an antenna/cabling fault. It's possible you got water in the coax (heavy rain recently) which reduced the signal on TV3's mux and now it's dried out restoring normal signal strength."

Biggles replied to Gordon Stewart's discussion Add a padding to regular recordings ?
"Correct.  It's global so can't be set for individual series or programs. Only positive way to not miss any endings is use Timer Record which can be set for individual programs or series. Just the same on my Panasonic Recorder."

Biggles replied to Gordon Stewart's discussion Cant get CHOICE tv
"Missing Channels or MUX is usually an antenna/cabling problem. Check your signal strength on the channels you are receiving. If you are missing some channels then you obviously have marginal signal strength. Also, check out the Resources pages on…"

"If you tried both and it doesn't show a signal then there is some other problem. Could be the LNB is dead. I tried both & it still came up with tuning failed i reset to factory settings last night hoping it would work"

Biggles replied to Lit Dom's discussion Sumsaung TV directly connects to Satelite Dish (Sky Dish) cannot receive Freeview
"No. Doesn't matter what box you use, if the Dish is pointing at the wrong satellite you won't be able to tune Freeview which is on Optus D1. You need to get an installer to check the Dish alignment and tune the TV. Unlike UHF a Dish…"

Biggles replied to Sue Hutchings's discussion Loss of Channels
"OK. Check signal strength for each MUX in the T2200 setup menu and post results. Pg38 of the Manual - Manual Scan. Interference is usually caused by new cellphone band and suppressors are available. Can you upload a picture of the antenna?"
Sep 23
Biggles replied to Sue Hutchings's discussion Loss of Channels
"What sort of antenna do you have? Sounds like an antenna/cabling problem as you are missing justone MUX which would indicate marginal signal strength or interference."

I couldn't do an autotune on the T2200 cos I had no service! Anyway I just whizzed out and bought an HDMI lead and it worked. The guy at Noel Leeming told me none of the FreeviewPlus-approved recorders come with HDMI cables, which is a bit rich when they sell for $400 upwards. Thanks for your help.

Thanks Biggles. So why does the Aerial Box come with AV leads and no HDMI cable?
