I have a new 40 inch Panasonic smart tv with built in everything. I set it up myself and love it. I have just bought a FreeviewPlus recorder (aerial Box T2200) and I just cannot get it to work. UHF aerial is connected to box, AV leads to tv, box power on: tv says 'no service'. Box instructions say 'select the video input you have connected your T2200 into.' How do I do that? Grrrr. What incredibly basic thing have I missed?? Help!

Glad to hear the HDMI cable worked OK. You will now get HD picture. I guess the TV has Component Video in but not Composite which is why the A/V cable didn't work. Strange they supply only A/V cables when many new TVs don't have composite video input. Particularly so when Composite is only SD and can't handle HD pictures. Don't forget to connect the Cable out socket on the T2200 to the antenna socket on your TV. That way you can watch via your TV tuner or via HDMI. It's necessary if you want to watch a third channel while two channels are recording at same time.
P.S. To get help you should be posting in the reception and Technical Forum or Freeview Equipment Forum and not to your Blog Posts. That way all members will see the post and any replies. Not many members will understand how to find and respond to Blogs.
No idea. I thought all qood quality recorders came with a HDMI lead these days. They should do as that's now the generally accepted connection method. A/V leads should work OK but then very few TVs have Composite Video (A/V) input now. Usually just HDMI and Component. You can't get HD video using composite A/V. If your TV has A/V input and you had the correct input selected (A/V)and got a "no service"message then I guess you haven't done an Autotune on the T2200.
Should be pretty simple.
Connect UHF antenna to T2200 box.
Connect box to TV via HDMI cable.
Select appropriate HDMI input with TV remote.
Carry out Autotune on T2100 box,
All should now work.
