Hi there,

I purchased a new Dish Tv s7070r set box yesterday and plugged it in as instructed. Tuning Failed continually appears whilst attempting to Satellite Scan.

I have plugged in the yellow, red and white cables, and have screwed in the white satellite cable into the LNB socket on the decoder. Could someone please help?

Hi Carla

Have you checked that you have screwed in the satellite cable in the LNB IN socket, not the LNB Out, also did you have SKY prior to buying a Freeview decoder? or did you have another Freeview box connected to it?

Many Thanks, Josh

Hi Josh,

Thankyou for replying. We had another decoder, but it was an unapproved brand (Strong 3650T). This box died, it no longer worked so I purchased this new s7070r decoder.

I am sure I have screwed in the LNB In socket though

You may need to configure the LNB settings in the box to match the LNB on the dish.

either 11300 or 10750

hope that helps

You probably just need to change the LNB type

1.    Press the Menu button to bring up the main menu

2.    Select Installation and press OK

3.    Select Tuning Wizard and press OK

4.    Enter the PIN code for the unit (the default is 0000)

5.    Select Satellite Scan and press OK

6.    Press the Yellow button to access the Setup menu

8.    Select LNB Setup and press OK

9.    Use the right arrow to change the LNB type to 10745 press OK

then scan for channels

The steps to do this are as follows

1.    Press the Menu button to bring up the main menu

2.    Select Installation and press OK

3.    Select Tuning Wizard and press OK

4.    Enter the PIN code for the unit (the default is 0000)

5.    Select Satellite Scan and press OK

6.    Press the Green button to Scan for channels.

Thankyou so much for this!

I'm just a little confused, there are many LNB types to choose from. These include C band, Extended C band, User, Universal and Ku band. Each of theses categories offers many types (eg: 11300, 10750 etc)

How do I know why LNB  type my satellite dish is?

The type and frequency will be marked on the LNB mounted on your dish antenna.

Also, if your old box still boots up, you will find the parameters you need in the menu from when it was setup.

Try Ku Band 10745 first  then  Ku band 11300

Double check you have attached the cable to ( LNB IN )
