tflix and youtube. Perhaps Sony have dropped the on demand app from their options?
Update
I tried accessing On demand through the web browser app on the TV.
When attempting to play it gave message that the necessary DRM plugins are not enabled. This is what I used to get on my laptop so it suggests Sonys browser is not up to date in this respect.

Hi Graeme,
Yes, I understand they update regularly. My TV automatically updates its software and I have double checked it has the latest version running. It appears it doesn't make any difference to on demand whether it's updated or not unfortunately.
The model is KD-65X7500D.
Thanks. Graeme Simpson said:
I gave up trying to watch ON DEMAND on my computer as it refused to work with my Linux based computer. (rival to Microsoft Windows). At that time I queried it with on demand and they said Linux was not compatible. Most smart TVs and such devices these appear to use the Linux operating system and a web browser (usually "Opera")
I have just tested my Linux laptop and it can now access On Demand so it appears that Linux is now compatible with it. What you need to do is update the Linux operating system. We have a Sony TV and can update it via the wifi or LAN cable. The older ones may require downloading the update onto a USB stick.
Note that it is not a "fault" with the software it is just network security and video codecs are evolving which is why all OSs regularly release updates. Even MS Windows.....
What model Sony?

WHAT IS CHANGING
The transmission provider JDA will change frequencies used to deliver existing Freeview|HD services in Gisborne, Nelson and Timaru in April 2015 so as to comply with the radio spectr
to watch Freeview .
You can split the RF Output on Freeview Boxs that have an RF Out and feed the signal to multiple TV's / Vcr's etc , You can only watch the same channel on all TV's tho.
This is how I have setup all of our Freeview Boxs , plus they are also connect via Composite to the Main Lounge TV.
We have 3 boxs in total all tuned to different Channels (Which is Feed to 3 TV's & 4 Vcrs & Panasonic Hard drive Recorder)
Box 1 is tuned to Channel 1
Box 2 is tuned to Channel 2
Box 3 is tuned to Channel 3
With UHF / HD its less of a problem if you have a UHF aerial installed and TV's with freeview built in , but as you have said this all costs money.
In Marlborough its Freeview Satellite or Sky , we cannot receive Freeview HD / UHF and never will at least you have a choice.
Your cheapest option is to buy a couple of Flash drives and record directly to them.
An 8 GB flash drive will give you 3-4 hours of recording time, the larger the flash drive the more content it can store.
Hope I haven't lost you .

Buy connecting, do you mean with the Video/audio connections?
I feel it annoying what the government has done, with TV.
Lots of people have multiple TV, that just needed an aerial connection, now we either have to buy a new TV or decoder.
So they gets heaps of money in two way.
1. The GST, and.
Selling the frequencies the TV used to use, as I understand they are being used for 4G.
Am I wrong????

Sue,
Just saw an error in my last post. (Too much typing and not enough thinking.)
Correction... (Before anyone starts mocking me.)
Regarding the recording of two channels and watching a third...... The caveat for this is that the channels must come from only two transponders on the satellite as there are only two tuners on the s7090. This was the situation until Prime moved to a different transponder. If you are recording a program from Prime, one of the s7090's two tuners will be locked to the Prime transponder and this reduces your options on recording and viewing other channels. It still shouldn't lock up the s7090 when you swap around though.
Just gave your scenario a crack on my s7090.
I could not get the machine to lock up when switching around the channels.
I was recording TV One and Prime and I could happily switch around all the channels. If I tried to go directly to a channel that I could no longer access, because both my tuners were using other transponders, I got the banner "Invalid Entry" displayed. But no lock up.
I am running the latest firmware that I downloaded from DishTV's website and installed manually. It is Version 1.61. I don't know if it has been sent out via OTA but it certainly does not seem to have the lockup problem that you are experiencing. (It certainly still pops up those screens when a series ends. Grrr!)

ULL HD 1080p.
To scan in Prime at 12519MHz on an UltraPlus 680P just follow the following steps:
Press Menu Navigate to Service Search in the Installation Menu Change the Search Mode to Manual =yes Make sure the OPTUS D1 Satellite is selected =yes Set the frequency to 12519MHz =yes < was 12456 MHz Make sure the Symbol rate is 22500 =yes Make sure the Polarity is Horizontal =yes Change the Search Type to FTA Only =yes Change the Network Search to Off =yes Start the Search < clicked OK =got:
3 TV Stations found5 Radio Services found- 3 New TV Services- 0 New Radio ServicesDo you want to copy scanned services to another tuner?
The options for this question were "OK" and "Cancel" < I chose OK =got: Service Error.
Turned the PVR off using the remote. Turned on again, went to the previous channel that got Prime, (#111), got "Prime has moved"
Joined Freeviewforum. While waiting my pending membership, did the above again:
found frequency set on 12707 MHz !! < !!got 0 New TV Services (last time got 3) This time chose the option "Cancel"Level=92% Quality=85% Clicked "Exit" button, again got channel #74, went to #111 got the same "Prime has moved" (But the UltraPlus info bar said Animal Airport - which Listener said was currently on)
Started at TV1, clicked through everything to about #120, didn't find a working Prime.
I don't actually know what channel it might be. :)
So I'm stuck.
Any help much appreciated. Thanks.

ile of poo! I had to return it 3 times for a replacement before I got one that would even turn on. Then I almost wish it didn't. It is riddled with annoying bugs and quirks that will have you throwing the remote at it within a week. Here are just some of the things that I have discovered with it. If you view the booking list While you're recording a program it sometimes crashes! Other times it won't show you all the booked items. If you edit a program to take out the ads, it sometimes chops the last half hour off your program and you can't get it back. If it's in standby, and there's a power cut, it doesn't go back into standby. If you record a program, and stop it and delete it before the end, it doesn't go to standby properly after the next morning's 4am update. It is painfully slow to copy programs to the USB. When you're copying to the USB, it sometimes tells you that the hard disk drive is full when it isn't. It doesn't remember the order you like the library sorted. It doesn't record the end of a program if it's also recording another channel. Even if you select programs in the guide which don't overlap, it sometimes will tell you that they do. To bookmark a point in a program is so involved a process when it could just be a hotkey. The guide takes ages to display. Sometimes you have to press the key 3 or 4 times. Pressing the STOP button while watching a recorded program sometimes doesn't! The SKIP keys often don't! There is more, but you get my point. And Dish TV's support is woeful. I wrote to them in early March, detailing the exact steps to take to recreate one of the faults I listed above, and they promised to remedy it. Now, 4 months and 3 software versions later the bug still isn't fixed. Whether they were lying to me when they said they'd fix it, or are simply incompetent and don't know how to, I will not presume to judge. The latest version of the software, actually broke something that used to work OK! And the online manual for the 7090PVR on their website is out of date and doesn't match with what you actually see on the screen. As soon as a reputable company such as Sony or Panasonic make a satellite PVR, I will buy it regardless of cost, and take a sledgehammer and reduce this near useless pile of junk to bits.…
ent value for the $$ consisting of 60cm dish / 11300 LNB / cable / Superview 480 STB. / Satellite finder
2. Installed all and was very straightforward and successful. Found Optus D1 easily and full TP scan also fine. Have had the install for over a year. Without the usual criticisms floating around about various set-top boxes I couldn't say anything against the setup.
3. The big June storm up North NZ had over 150KPH winds and neighbour informs us tore the dish completely off the roof and into their back yard. Travel to site a few days later and retrieve the destroyed dish and find the LNB hanging still attached on the end of the COAX (bracket broken)
4. Buy new dish and re-mount - nothing changed on STB menus and should be simple exercise to realign dish and re-scan. Connect LNB , Sat finder and realign. Finder squealing OK and dish direction looks fine from previous direction / other dishes etc - and finder.
5. Run scan on STB menu and cant find any channels .. spend all afternoon trying / realigning etc but all fails and I suspect maybe LNB fault.
On leaving I retrieve the old LNB and leave the setup as is , intending to purchase a new LNB as all it can be is that , or the cable. I am sure the setup otherwise is fine. I have a last look through the menu on the STB and see that amongst the LNB 11300 setting that LNB power is "OFF" - I did not alter a thing from the original working setup so I wonder why this is so. All web searches indicate to me that in all cases except for possibly a dual-LNB situation that a single LNB setup should be power "ON"
I did notice that while scanning that the power level bar on the menu was at least reading but fluctuating between 0 - 30% ... even with LNB power "OFF" as mentioned.
So - I have purchased a new LNB just in case but the problem may actually be the power setting after all. I will be trying this when we revisit the house. I cant understand why the STB LNB setting changed. So simple question to the epistle - "ON" or "OFF" ??????

MUX or MULTIPLEX is a group of TV or radio stations all transmitted from the same Radio Frequency Block (or RF CHANNEL), which you receive using a UHF aerial.
Here are the MUXs or MULTIPLEXES in New Z
ance that the cords were faulty but they were working fine previously.I did try using the built in digital tuner via my Outdoor aerial connection but got no signal which leads me to believe that the aerial may be of the old kind that you can't get free-view from? (have asked the landlord to find out for me) Really annoying me as i'm relatively clued up and capable when it comes to technology but this one really has me stumped! Have printed the manual out and will have one more good crack at it tonight after work but chances are not looking to good. May have to sell TV and go back to the old one!In your opinion would you bother paying someone to come look at it? PS- Thank you both so much for taking your time to help me! Biggles said:
Hi Melissa.
Sounds like a problem then with your RGB cord connections. Make sure the RGB cables are plugged into the correct sockets at each end. If two are swapped around or one has a bad connection it could cause the problem you have. The sound is OK because it is via the Red, White cables. I see in the manual that Input 2 on your TV is Composite AV so you could try that but you would need the special cord supplied with the TV. If your STB has HDMI out then use an HDMI cable to the TV for best picture. As Mike says there's two types of composite and according to the manual your TV uses YUV. Check in the STB menu that output is YUV and not RGB. As you are in Wellington I guess you may be in a Freeview HD area? If so, as the TV has a digital tuner, then connect to a UHF antenna and get HD TV. Satellite is only rubbish quality SD.
P.S. Make sure also that the TV's colour system setting is set to Auto. It may have been changed for some reason.
If you don't have the manuak it is available here
