Now I am wondering if I am able to get the new channels, Duke, HGTV and Bravo.
Any help out there?

ew boxes do not work on sky dishes unless you change the lmb to a good quailty single like a triax, sky use a double which has atone switch in it which most freeview boxes don't like.
Hi Warren,
I'm not sure where you got that information from, but it is COMPLETELY WRONG!
I was a Sky Installer for sixteen years, before leaving to go full-time installing Freeview, and have probably connected literally hundreds and hundreds of Freeview Satellite receivers to Sky dishes over the last seven years.
The problem with those Sky dual-throat LNBs, is that the L.O. (Local Oscillation) starts to wander after about five to six years use and they have to be replaced, because the I.F. (Intermediate Frequency) is calculated by taking away the L.O. from the T.F.(Transmission Frequency). So if the L.O. wanders the receiver can't lock onto the channels. - Nothing to do with a tone switch.
The tone switch is the 22Khz switch which is built into the Sky dual throat LNBs, to switch from one throat to another. - Sky were planning to use Optus C1 (now D3) in the future as a "backup" satellite, after B1 (now D1) accidentally went out of line (and as a consequence, Sky was down for three days) about 10 years ago.
Sky have never used that "backup", but if you turn the 22Khz switch on in any receiver connected to a Sky dish with a dual-throat LNB, you will start looking at Optus D3, and certainly won't get any Freeview channels off it.
Incidentally, it's LNB, not LMB = Low Noise Block Down-Converter!
Cheers, Bill.

The following instructions are supplied by the manufacturer and extracted from the VEON SAT101 website.
With some channels being transmitted from a Sky transponder, the device may require an upda
On Tuesday 23 June, Kordia TV will be made available to Whangarei, Rotorua, Taupo, Gisborne, Whanganui, Masterton & Wairarapa, Nelson & Tasman, South Canterbury and Invercargill.
In Wairarapa,

And just a note that your existing satellite receiver will not be compatible with a UHF aerial, a Freeview|HD digital receiver will be (or if you've got a post-2010 flatscreen TV, it most likely will have Freeview|HD built in, if that's the case then a UHF aerial plugged directly to the TV will pick up all the Freeview|HD channels available after tuning them in).
If you've moved into the property recently, might pay to check if there's already a UHF aerial installed - it might look like one of these.
Please let us know how you get on! Mike G said:
Depending where you live, it might be better and cheaper to try to receive Freeview UHF with an aerial. If you need to get a new LNB it might be better to get an expert in to replace and align it. Not a hard job, so it shouldn't be too expensive.

6th, so maybe it's coincidence that it started the same day that Sky were doing satellite Freeview changes. We should be taking a terrestrial signal anyway.
It's just that I have not made any conscious change to our AV receiver or TV settings prior to or immediately following that date.
I wondered whether the codecs being used to decode the signal within the AV receiver had been accidentally altered to another setting (still to investigate), but a 3 second lag seems quite large. Will keep experimenting, but did not want to affect the other channels that are still working quite happily.... 8-)

I have a Dish TV unit and the audio is fine for all channels, seeing as the transponders for the three channels are different t may be a case on your sound setup or the equipment you use such as a 5.1 Theater system or receivers to distribute video and audio signals
Kind RegardsJoshua

Signal i.e if you Press 1 on your remote what happens.
The only other things I can think of is your dish has become misaligned or your LNB is faulty, or your LNB settings are wrong.
Press the Menu button to bring up the main menu
Select Installation and press OK
Select Tuning Wizard and press OK
Enter the PIN code for the unit (the default is 0000)
Select Satellite Scan and press OK
Press the left arrow to access the carrier list
Number 1 should be Freeview 12456 MhZ/22500/H
If this is not present then you are missing that Frequency , if it is there then Press the green button and Scan.

th the old Transonic 29" CRT so should go now.
Paul - I checked the LNB on the working STB & the LNB setting was 11300MHz. I did do a factory reset on the Satlink 2700 in an effort to get it going, it seems to respond best on "standard"- 5150Mhz, there is also "user" 5150MHz & 5700MHz (is this for dual LNB set ups?) and "universal" 9750MHz & 10600MHz (more dual LNBs?). The other settings showing on the Satlink 2700 are:- TP Index 1/28; 22k Off; DiSEqC Disabled; Positioner Off; 0/12V Off; Polarity Horizontal; Toneburst Off; LNB Power On.
Before I tried the LCD TV "upgrade" I had two sat STBs working happily - it was only when I tried to get the Satlink 2700 to work with the Sanyo LCD TV did the problem arise. Now I cannot get it to go on anything!
The STB does show the menu on the TV - so I guess the AV connection is good. But it does not seem to be getting the signal from the satellite. Does this help the experts to fault find?
Thanks again!

hi setup should be fine as system was installed professionally less than 2 months ago,new ariel new cabling etc.ill get them to come back and check tho as it has been very windy of late

has to be aligned perfectly, sometimes these dishes are not aligned properly and any rain can block the signal just like that because it is not getting enough signal strength. I recommend 75cm dishes and above as they are very reliable (Mine for example was installed in 2009 with the same LNB and severe weather has not impacted in any channels in any way)
Your LNB could be ageing, this is the machine at the front of your dish which points in the SKY, sometimes the UV rays from the Sun can damage the device and cause problems in the future. Trade me LNB's tend to last a lot less because they are cheap and usually not tested in NZ.
Trees and objects that could be interrupting signal paths from the dish to the satellite in Space.
If you have an unapproved Freeview device then you may see channels with the "Scrambled or Not in Service" message because the channels are PAY TV or have been removed. Recently Four Plus 1, Prime and The Edge TV has gone off air and relocated to a new frequency.
