input socket and managed to trick the TV into thinking the STB was an 'aerial' via the analog auto tuning. This picked up the channel the STB was on and everything was perfect (except the color is of quite bad, everyone is pretty orange - will play with the color when I can be bothered) Only annoying thing is - upon turning the TV back on this morning it is no longer tuned in.. Not a very good solution if I am having to re-tune every day haha Biggles said:
It obviously has as she said the connections used were identical to the older TV which worked OK. The only thing changed was the TV. nzdtv.com said:
Are you sure the satellite receiver even has component out? some of the low end cheap ones only have composite. E.g socket on back are yellow, red, white.
Please post the brand and model number of your receiver.

I replaced the cable top to bottom for good measure as it looked quite old.

Ok....so LNB is 5 months old , so would hope its not that and it works ok with the old system, as for a power reset do you mean turn it off on back on ?? cos its been of and on several times.
It is not a sky dish or LNB the dish is much larger than a sky dish , on the old box the picture is great steady and sharp with no noise.
Thank you.

I think the A2 accommodates the drifting LO on the old sky LNBs. Its got to be either a faulty LNB or faulty box. Have to tried a power reset on the A2? I would be ringing DishTV.

Hi Josie & Mike,
Not really too sure what's going on or how this could happen, as it depends on what you're using and how you've set up your recordings.
You could first try a FACTORY RESET to see if it helps address this problem (sometimes devices - and this goes with PCs as well - gets overloaded with data and appears to do 'random' things as it tries to correct itself).
You're best to refer to your product manual for instructions on how to do a Factory Reset (as each device differs slightly in menu structure etc.).
Important to note that, after this Factory Reset, you will need to re-book your recordings. So it's a good idea to note down first what you normally record so as not to forget any of your fave shows!
If a Factory Reset doesn't help, please provide some further details (e.g. device brand & model)
And if I can't find a solution in the recesses of my brain, we might need to refer you to the manufacturer's support team for more diagnostics.

it could cause the problem you have. The sound is OK because it is via the Red, White cables. I see in the manual that Input 2 on your TV is Composite AV so you could try that but you would need the special cord supplied with the TV. If your STB has HDMI out then use an HDMI cable to the TV for best picture. As Mike says there's two types of composite and according to the manual your TV uses YUV. Check in the STB menu that output is YUV and not RGB. As you are in Wellington I guess you may be in a Freeview HD area? If so, as the TV has a digital tuner, then connect to a UHF antenna and get HD TV. Satellite is only rubbish quality SD.
P.S. Make sure also that the TV's colour system setting is set to Auto. It may have been changed for some reason.

our Television so that your TV can adjust to the new changes Freeview may have had overtime. You can do that by simply accessing your TV's Main Menu and look for Channels or Installation, look for Auto Tune. Make sure that the cable that is connected to the TV comes from a UHF aerial and not the Satellite Dish. If you can get all channels without any 'No Signal' message then you are ready to take the next step, choosing a MyFreeviewPlus product which works exactly like a MySkyHDi but without a monthly contract. You can get TV One, TV2 and TV3 in HD for free as well as the FreeviewPlus guide which can rewind back 7 days and catch up on missed shows via the OnDemand Apps. The Dish TV MyFreeviewPlus aerialBox T2200 is a great choice as it comes with a 1TB built in hard drive, Live Pause, Series and Single Booking from the EPG, cast movies, music and photos from a smartphone / pc to the MyFreeviewPlus and games / apps to watch content. and it has a built in WiFi so no internet cables needed.
If you go with a MyFreeviewPlus box, make sure you unplug the UHF cable from the TV to the new unit so you can scan for channels in the easy setup.
Let me know if you need any further info about FreeviewPlus, Freeview or any of the products, Dish TV Online Support can help you with with their products if necessaryLooking forward to hearing from youKind RegardsJoshua …
