Mine still just black screen....although can access via remote!! Weird!!
After weeks of being told you don’t need to reset / reinstall your TV just wait 10mins - today I left the tv unplugged all day , came home and still black screen!!
Today I did a factory reset on my TV and BOOM we have Freeview Back - no black screen!! Yes, we had re login to all our apps - but, it worked!!!

Awesome Rachael it's a pity freeview didn't think of telling you this I don't think they really know what they r doing. Freeview seems to be having more problems than than anyone. I'm really happy for you that its working

I’m really happy for you too Rachel, we all know how flipping aggravating it was, does everyone have it back yet or is it an ongoing saga for some still ?

Still ongoing for me, freeview only works via red button on the remote!! I cant uninstall the app, but have signed in and out. And powered the TV off for a while!

Hey guys,

Sorry the fix hasn't worked for you :( it did for most users so we had to check this out with the device experts at Samsung.  Their advice, in this case, is to perform a Smart Hub Reset, which would force all apps to reinitialise.  Please see instructions below:

  1. Press “Settings” on your remote (or press the “home” button, then navigate left to select Settings on the Home Hub)
  2. Select “Support” on the Settings menu;
  3. Select “Self Diagnosis”
  4. Select “Reset Smart Hub”

Hopefully this will correct the problem!

If it doesn't, they would like you to contact Samsung Customer Care on 0800 726 786 so the Samsung Technical Team will try a factory reset for you.

And the black screen is back - had 2 hours ! Once, I changed to Netflix - and tried to go back to Freeview- I got my black screen again!!!
I did the smart hub reset !!!
Just contacted Samsung - they were amazing and Freeview is back !!!
So Rachel, tell me exactly what you did plz! Does it yet again involve re setting the whole TV and logging back into all apps, ie, Netflix, Amazon etc???

I really feel for you all that this is still going on, I know how frustrating it is and can only hope it’s fixed ASAP for you all :)

Freeview App Samsung 2016 TV - tries to load and then blank screen !
This has been an issue since 31/10 .
It will only work if you reset your smart hub on your tv - login again to FreeView! If you leave the app or turn the tv, you will have to reset the smart hub again and login in again to freeview- and all your other apps ( Netflix , Lightbox etc)
3 x times to Samsung support and numerous times to Freeview - both say it is each other’s issue!!!!!!!!!!!
