Your question is rather confusing: You have an aerialBox T2100 which should already be connected to a UHF aerial

Hi Brent

You will not be able to use FreeviewPlus without a aerial connected in, however the Apps such as TVNZ OnDemand, 3Now, Maori TV and games will be accessible by using the Apps button on the remote control.

hi, Josh

thanks for the answer, is freeview plus more than TVNZ on Demand 3Now. It seems like i will need to install an aerial to get full benefit from the technology

Hi Brent

The FreeviewPlus application provides an enhance guide, a backwards 7 day guide for catching up, featured shows and movies. You will need to be connected to the Freeview broadcast to enable this feature as it relies on it and the internet to activate.

I hope this has helped.

Further to Josh's comment. From all the research I've done online I can find no site that tells us exactly how Freeview Plus works.  As far as I can tell the new EPG plus many other enhancements are delivered over the air by the UHF Terrestrial signal therefore you need to be in a UHF recepton area and have a UHF aerial to make use of them. The On-Demand Apps and others work via your broadband connection and no antenna is necessary for them to work. As Freeview plus is not available via satellite, if you live in a satellite only area you can only make use of the online Apps. All the other functions require UHF. It would be nice if Freeview would publish something on their website that actually says how it all works rather than just tell us what features it has and how they work.

P.S.

Your profile says you have a T2100 (which is UHF) but you don't know what your antenna is. If the T2100 is receiving Freeview and working OK on whatever antenna you are using then Freeview Plus should work OK too.
