HI there, I hope someone can help me.  I've been using my Zinwell ZMX 7500 free view box since 2007.  I never had any problems.  It is connected to a satellite dish.  Every night when I turn on the tv.  it tells me there is no signal.  Then I switch everything off.  Unplug the electrical cable and disconnect the satellite dish cable.  (That is what the Zinwell correspondent told me to do).  Sometimes it will then immediately show all channels.  Sometimes I only get TV1 and TV2 then.  And sometimes I have to repeat this ritual 3 - 4 times before I can get back all the channels.  There are no trees and no big buildings that can prevent resection. We didn't have any storms which could have moved the dish.  I've been in the house for 2 years, so I have no idea how old the dish is, but the house is fairly new, maybe 10 years.  I don't know what to do.  Should I go and buy a new free view box, as I've read that the Zinwell is apparently not so good?  Or Should I get a TV specialist out to check the dish.  Either way I'm afraid I'm going to spend money on the wrong decision.  Is there anybody out there that could give me advise please?

a new lnb would be a good idea as well as a newer freeview box

see other pages of this forum for lnb replacement

Yes go buy a new one the Zinwell are way way past their use by date.! Go for one that Supports Freeview Plus

It could be your LNB failing or your Zinwell or both. I've had 2 Zinwell Terrestrial units since 2008 and neither lasted more than 2 yrs before they died. IMO they were absolute rubbish. If yours is now coming up to 9 yrs old then it's probably way past it's useful life. I see from your profile you are in Papapamo wherever that may be (I can't find it anywhere) so if you are in FreeviewHD coverage I'd suggest you buy a new TV and/or Freeview PVR so you can get decent HD reception. Otherwise buy a TV which has a satellite tuner and/or a decent Satellite PVR.

Hello Diana,

It sounds as though your LNB may be failing.  The ZMX7500 was a very reliable model and there are still lots of them still in operation around the country.    You can find troubleshooting information in my Dropbox http://tinyurl.com/zinwell-nz or via our website zinwell.co.nz.  More specifically here are some instructions which may help where the LNB has gone off frequency and which can cause the symptoms you describe:
