Has anyone in the Nelson region noticed an increase in pixelation, over most channels, since the big retune on the 1st May? Channel 3 seems particularly bad.

Hi

I will follow this up with JDA to see if anything was done yesterday,
Are there any channels still working? or are all of them having bad pixilation.

Cheers

Hi Joshua

All other main channels are working fine thank you, it's just these 2 and Choice I think. I haven't checked them again today.

Cheers

Thanks Speed brake

I will get back to you as soon as I am in touch

Cheers

I just got back from the team this afternoon and JDA has responded:

We had no alarms or other calls about problems on the network over the weekend so this was probably a viewer issue.

I Suggest you have a look at your set-up as from your earlier posts you are using several devices connected through a splitter to the same antenna so maybe having a look at it again and check that the antenna hasn't been misalign,

It just really depends on the situation

I hope this information helps.

The channel restacking has nothing to do with the alinement of your antenna if the site has not changed.

What is noted is that Antennas in the Nelson - Tasman region pointed at tha Takaka Hill get best reception of Mainland TV 8 TV and 2 Radio channels with the signal from Freeview off the side of the antenna still very strong and closer to the Mainland TV signal that is about 9db lower. This method achieves the best results in practice in Motueka but is not an issue in Richmond or over 30 km east from Motueka.

Second point is UHF antennas mounted in the vertical polarity position can let water into the balin / feed point. Our techs put silicon along the top and sides only leaving the bottom to breath and therefore let any moisure out. It is very common for people to report bad signals when its their antenna Coax feed that has water causing the problem. Eventually it gets into the cable and causes damage. The www, mainlandtv.nz  website has plenty of tips and information including the good techs in the region.  cheers   Gary

This is not true and you need to fix or remove this missleding comment

Which comment? It's not clear which one your reply refers too.

hi I had no tv 1 or 2 last night(nelson area on terrestrial)anyone else have problems all other channels were fine

Same here, things seem too be mostly back too normal today but there doesnt seem too be any programme guide on tv 1 and 2.

Last night JDA confirmed that there were some issues at the Transmitter and that their team have been working on it, TV One, TV2 and plus 1's were affected and have resumed their transmission today

TV Guides may take a while to get updated.

what a lot of rubbish

For the last 2 weeks or so Ch42 mux from Kaka Hill has been quite bad signal strength wise with bad pixelation and often total lose of signal. This happened quite suddenly 10 mins into the All Blacks match against the USA and many other times since. Ch42 is Prime, Al Jazeera and Maori. Why would this particular mux have such poor signal strength and quality? We use a Panasonic DMR-XW380 Freeview recorder.
