Has anyone in the Nelson region noticed an increase in pixelation, over most channels, since the big retune on the 1st May? Channel 3 seems particularly bad.

Cheers

I'm in Stoke, running Samsung Smart Led TV, I support that there's an issue with the signal from Mount Campbell, I'm getting pixelation on the TV and also my Panasonic My Free view recorder, very annoying as it mucks up the sound when it happens, I just got my aerial redone via Nelson TV and Video in the last few months so no nothing is wrong with any of the equiptment, plus my grand parents and customers are complaining about it, which are also in Stoke, I hope something gets sorted soon as very annoying, would rather watch on demand at the moment,

Hi Speedbrake, I am having trouble in Wellington on the South Coast and another guy in Upper Hutt.  Both satellite users though.

Hi Shelley, you're on a different platform (the satellite or DTH platform - accessed via a satellite dish and satellite receiver) to Speedbrake, Glynne and Tim, who is on the DTT platform (accessed via a UHF aerial and HD receiver).  Please see tips here to resolve your reception issues, thanks Shelley.

Hi Tim and Glynne, the transmission provider for Nelson is investigating these reports - please see NETWORK STATUS for updates. Thanks.

It has to be asked why the transmission provider do NOT have their own monitoring systems in place. Even if its just an arrangement with local installers to notify them when an issue appears.

Hi NZDTV, worthwhile Q to ask and the transmission provider for Nelson tells me that they "have extensive monitoring on our sites from Auckland and also with local contractors and TV service people, especially in Nelson. But there's a difference between knowing there's a problem and solving it."

And often issues are noticed at the same time by viewers and the transmission provider's local contractors.

I am also experiencing pixillation over various channels too, sometimes the voice is out of sinc with the actions also.  I have noticed that the first hint of rain sometimes everything gets really screwed up and that can be when it's just a light shower!

Hi Speedbrake,

We had pixelation (Panasonic twin tuner HDD with UHF aerial), so re-tuned last week.  Still has some problems on channels that were not supposed to be affected by May 1 changes.  Last night we had no reception, all channels gone, and a re-tune cannot find any reception.  No it's not the aerial... which is in the attic and hidden from possums.  A quick check, finding it has not been disturbed.  Very weird, but more time for reading.

Sounds like you have a different problem, Sounds more like a satellite problem, but if this is happening there is more than likely a problem with the signal quality at your end. More details would be good, Location, Satellite or UHF.

The UHF signal was ok last night from what i noticed. Id look elsewhere if you have no signal at all.

Yes i've had a fair bit of pixelation on tv 2, and until yesterday I kept getting code 2 errors whenever i tried too record something on my Magic Tv 3700, it seems too have come right now (fingers crossed)   I see on the forum they are still working on it?

Thanks Speedbrake, you're right.  UHF aerial all good.  This evening I unplugged Sony TV & Panasonic tuner and removed all cables.  Replaced all, powered up and the autotune did its thing within a minute, without hanging and no channels found as before.  Weird!  Back to a great picture, no pixelation so far!
