the cable into) and it won't seem to search for any channels. I have tried changing the LNB settings to 10750 and 11300 and have manually selected the D1 Optus satellite but still haven't had any luck - does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be amazing. Thanks in advance, Jamie…
(MHEG 5) That is why the EPG does not display at all on Freeview devices.
You will not find Prime+1 on listed on the www.freeviewnz.tv website.
I don't know why Prime have not added +1 to Freeview. Maybe it costs too much, they just don't care, or they are incompetent. Going by my past dealings with Prime, my vote is incompetence.
Don't hold your breath.

he program information is displayed when you change to that channel, pressing the EPG button just displays 'Loading' for ever and ever....
I think that the Prime Helpdesk guys have no skills or knowledge in Freeview.
When Primes EPG had a problem a few years ago that only the next three days were displayed, their Helpdesk told me that they have nothing to do with Freeview. (I wonder how Freeview gets their program information?? Magic?)…
terrestrial service, not satellite. Country people who support racing miss out.
Another change noted today is Ch 31 Parliament; Ch 32 Chinese Channel, Ch 33 Chinese Channel.

info on the set up that I have.
Below is a photo of the aerial on my roof. Is this a VHF or UHF aerial? I also have a satellite dish up there too, which I'm assuming the old Freeview STB was using.
Below is a photo of what comes out of the wall behind my TV - two coaxial cables. One seems to pick up a weak signal (which is what I'm using at the moment), whereas the other picks up nothing. I've connected the cable to the TV using an adapter from Dick Smith's, as you can see in the second photo.
Does this help to deduce what the problem is at all?…
tre very easily.
Another problem I had while up measuring the dish is that I couldn't get an accurate azumith. I put a straight piece of wood across the dish and tried to measure the orientation with an app on my phone, but it measured different angles depending on whether I measured in the middle, or the left, or the right side of the dish. I flipped the wood but had same measurements. With the dish being made of metal I imagine it nterferes with any magnetic field...?
That's why installers use a good quality satellite finder signal meter. A compass will give a rough initial direction which can then be fine tuned by peaking the satellite signal on a signal meter while adjusting both Azimuth and Elevation. Alignment needs to be very precise for highest signal strength. Phone Apps are useless for accuracy and are also affected by external interference as they use a magnetometer chip in the phone which is sensitive to light, air pressure and nearby objects.

cause I read somewhere something about needing a separate LNB for each satellite channel group.
You will be able to watch all channels on the other set top box if you record on another box, this only affects the recording box because the tuner is being used and the other groups of channels will not be available until the recording has completed. The pass through is separate from the recorder.
Hi Josh.
Thanks for the reply. I have a subsidiary question just to clarify: If, for example, I was recording from Prime TV on one set top box, can I still view and /or receive TVNZ 1on the second? I ask because I read somewhere something about needing a separate LNB for each satellite channel group.
Recording from the guide (or EPG) uses something called "alternate instance" which always chooses to record the original / first screening of the selected programme.
The recorder would see the same programme on the Plus 1 channel as being identical to the one on the original channel and would always opt to record the show on the original channel and skip the one on the Plus 1 channel (unless there is a prior conflict in your booked recordings).
The only other way is to set a manual timer in this instance. …
scan, this will not erase the recorded shows already in your library.
1. Press MENU on your remote (The Menu button will vary depending on the remote you have) head to INSTALLATION then SATELLITE SCAN.
2. In the Satellite Scan menu (above) press the GREEN button on your remote to activate a scan.
3. Press the OK button to begin scan.
4. Once the scan completes then simply press the exit button to return to the live TV channel you were on, your channels will now be rescanned.
