ranged from $300-400, which seems ridiculously high considering a brand new UHF aerial is only $99 from Dick Smith.
The landlord has said no to contributing to this, so I figure that I now have 2 options:- Buy a new Freeview STB that receives signal via the satellite dish
- Buy a new UHF aerial from Dick Smith and try to install it myself
Both are going to cost around $100. Any recommendations? …
top any glitches due to people moving about near the TV and possible interference. I'd still recommend an outdoor antenna though. I have direct line of sight to Waiatarua and get a perfect picture with a small bit of wire stuck in the antenna socket but I still use an outdoor antenna. I also use a splitter to connect my Recorder and PC tuner so an outdoor antenna is virtually a necessity to avoid any problems. And a dish doesn't work on a TV as it doesn't have a satellite tuner. Has to be a UHF antenna.…
then Edit Satellite
2. With Optus D1 showing at the top, cursor down to LNB No. scroll left and right to LNB1 or LNB2 and select the one which shows the 100% yellow signal bar at the bottom and press
Ok
Let me know on how you get on

PRIME channels on the bottom of your channel list,
If you wish to move PRIME from the bottom of the list to Channel 10 then you will need to set this via the Organizing Services option when you press Menu on your remote and explore that, I am unaware on how to further do this, however if you want have a play around.
Hope this is of much use.

im/her to see if there is a Freeview distribution system installed in the building or what sort of TV distribution there is withing the building. Surely must be some form of system for all apartments sharing common antenna and/or dish.
Building manager or landlord should be able to assist with UHF. Another option - get a cheap satellite box (Warehouse or somewhere) that has HDMI out.
Afterthought. Presumably the DVD player has composite (yellow) output. If so try that on the TV's AV input. That would see if it's a TV fault or not.…
iew. Personally I'd disable the modulator and run Component or Composite cables rather than rf. rf modulators are really going to cause problems for Freeview reception so should be avoided like the plague. Basically you have reintroduced the VCR loop problem but not as badly. Best fix is upgrade to MySky and possibly Multiroom (i.e. replace the old decoder with a new one)but expensive.
P.S. Prime is in SD only, not HD, so doesn't matter if you watch via UHF or Satellite, it will always be an inferior picture.

ou could try adjusting the LNB freq in the setup menu up or down 5 - 10mhz which may help. However without getting in a pro with all the appropriate equipment it will probably be very difficult to confirm the problem. Have you checked and compared your signal strength on all MUX?. Also as your Profile says you are in Wellington why not consider getting a Freeview UHF STB or new TV and a UHF antenna provided of course you are in a UHF reception area? This would enable to watch in HD instead of the rubbishy SD satellite standard.…
as you have the correct connections and select the correct input.
Check pg 8, 9, 11 of your TV manual. Use the AV button on the remote and then select AV in the input menu.
