I have done all the trouble shooting steps that I've found on here and other sites, I've factory reset the box as well as reset the box and just removed the power plug for 2 mins and still no luck.
This all started from 1 day of rain where the channels were cutting in and out? Is there any generic settings that will just save and work?
When I do add new settings into the transponder area I am not able to select it to search for it, every other satellite shows up except for the 1's appropriate for the Optus D1.
I am also located in Kaikohe Far North…
pre-booked stuff so assumed we were all good.
Had some time yesterday, so turned the box on and got a "No Signal" error - "check cable or satellite dish"
It's been recording, so this error must have just happened in the day or so before I switched on to look.
Sat Dish appears OK - and don't *really* want to spring for a new cable if it's something obvious.
Does a reset wipe the recordings?
Any idea what I'm dealing with?TIA.…
hout any buttons being pressed on unit or remote. When this happens we lose TV1, TV2, TV1plus1,tv2plus1. And in addition the sound goes on choice TV &TV4. But then the sound comes back when you turn unit off and on or sometimes when you go up a channel and then back down. This happens very sporadically. And will be OK for a day then go funny again. And then function normally - without a retune. If i try retuning while malfunctionng it will not find TV1&2 etc. Any ideas? Could it be possible that it is losing TV1/2 frequency group and swtching to one that is OK ie a diff freq group ie parliament.…
after that it was perfect for entire time we had it.
Recently we stopped with Sky and moved to a Freeview S8200. This is connected to the same dish as the Sky receiver was. Its run fine for 2 weeks on its default LNB (10.742) and all channels received well. In the last 48 hours we've had a large number of the channels disappear and can now only see tv4 and prime.
We've tried factory resets, satelite/blind scans and used the 2 LNB ranges (11.300 and 10.750) that Sky would normally supply their customers but still no luck.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue and know of any solutions?

and record programmes onto usb stick. I can access TVNZondemand, Netflix etc. What I cant do is watch catch up tv on freeview plus, When I click the backward arrow and go into past programmes , every programme comes up with "not available". Why is that? I can get the programme on TVNZ ondemand, but I thought the point of having freeview plus was so you can watch your programmes when you wanted. I have also tried acessing yr "how to videos" on this site, and they wont play. I have rung freeview plus and they couldnt help
Any help would be greatly appreciated. …
k me to, or tell me the codec specifics please?
I need to know that, to ensure that whatever FSM I decide to buy, will actually be able to look at the digital signal as transmitted here. Will any meter that can look at DVB-S/S2 and DVB-T/T2/C work or do I need to look for something more specific? Satellite should be painless enough, it is the terrestrial Freeview that concerns me because it seems to be something different to the rest of the world's DVB-T standards.
Currently looking at the SATLINK WS6980 unit.
Thanks. :)

The coax is all new and good quality but I don't have a masthead amp.
I agree that it is probably best to get a professional installer in to advise me. I have this dish now and am hoping it will work ok. All my neighbours seem to be using a dish so I will try and get it going using this first.
I have a built in freeview tv in the loungue and a bedroom tv with no built in freview so am wondering what box/setup I would need to purchase for them to be running independently of each other.
Cheers James

By "big traditional aerial" I presume you mean a large VHF aerial? That certainly won't work. You need a UHF antenna, good quality coax and probably a masthead amp. Looking at the coverage map for Sugarloaf it seems about half the Woolston are is unlikely to get UHF. Depending on where you are in Woolston you should be able to receive UHF. Have you checked your address here?

Failing that the dsh you have should work OK but you'll probably need a professional installer to set it up as you will need to know how to mount it with correct azimuth and elevation and also a satellite finder to fine tune the signal.
If you get a professional installer they will be able to tell you firstly if you can get UHF and secondly they can install the dish correctly.

to normal after customers reported signal issues.
A replacement television transmitter for Nelson is on its way after signal problems were detected with the city's Kaka Hill tower.
Darren Richards of Nelson TV & Video Services said his company had fielded calls at the start of the week regarding the Freeview aerial service as some channels where " breaking up", due to poor signal quality.
He in turn had contacted Johnston, Dick and Associates (JDA), who operate the Freeview terrestrial platform for the Nelson region.
Subsequent tests by the company revealed an issue with the signal at the Nelson infill location, near the Centre of New Zealand.
"Our guy had a look at the transmissions in Nelson and found a slightly reduced quality signal coming from one of the transmitters on Kaka Hill," JDA's Warren Harding said.
Harding said a replacement transmitter was being sent to Nelson today and should be installed soon after.
Channels likely to be affected were Prime, Maori TV, Te Reo, Choice, The Shopping Channel and the Radio New Zealand Concert Program.
However, the issue would only affect some television as most of the region's television signal is sourced from Mt Campbell, west of Motueka.
Richards said another problem emerging in the last couple of weeks was the low noise booster on the front of satellite dishes starting to fail.
This also caused pixelation and breaking up of the picture on either Sky or the Freeview satellite service.
The issue was a common one at this time of year due to the better weather and hotter days, he said.…
