icates etc. All using the early version of the "helpful" instructions.
Yeah, I'm that good :))
Ever since then every few days I get an 'active service upgrade'. Nothing changes except that I've been given back all of the extraneous duplicates, triplicates etc that I had diligently removed.
Until four days ago when the 'active servive upgrade' deleted C4, moved Prime and Trackside down to channels 9 & 10 respectively and foisted on me yet another TVtwee at channel 11.
It's starting to look like the lunatics have taken over the asylum. Does anyone have the vaguest idea what's going on?…
along with 'channeling for Sky'. We used our TV and set top box successfully in our last place, with a cable supplied by our landlord. Had to buy our own cable for the new place, after describing our setup to Jaycar. It fits the top, blue socket but no joy. With an adapter it fits the bottom socket, but although our box installation process does find the available NZ channels, it all ends with a message saying it can't get a signal. Neighbours couldn't help as they all seem to be on Netflix. We're at a loss, and we're not sure what the 2 sockets are for.

The APPS button works only erratically. We also have a green button on the remote which used to give us a connection to On Demand. Nowadays it never connects to On Demand. The APPS button access is problematic in that, while it allows navigation through the On Demand content, it doesn't allow fast forwarding or rewinding during a programme. The marker showing time progress moves during the fast forwarding or rewinding operation but, when the play button is hit to resume viewing, the programme resumes at the former position ie not forwards or backwards. Further the programme viewed is not listed in the "recently watched" section. These issues never arose when we were watching via the green button connection. Fast forwarding, rewinding and adding to recently watched content worked fine (although, as noted, we can no longer connect via the green button).A solution to these problems would be very welcome.…
been an unsightly grotesque to the roof lines of buildings all over the planet. Satellite dishes are only marginally better.
Both have only ever been a necessary evil. The government announced in December 2022 that they are firmly on track for ensuring 99.8 percent of the population has access to improved broadband by the end of 2023. So please release a Freeview Streaming TV app for all those external dongles and boxes like Apple TV!

a proper antenna system at the user end ,
getting rid of the waste of space channels would be a starter ( multiple tv1 and tv3 regions )
and then increase the bit rate of the remaining !!
changing the requirement to support H264 and DVBS2 is a step in the right direction. I suspect current boxes may be throw away and 5 years old . Introducing new channels in HD would then be possible if transponder space is available .

No further transponder space is currently available to Freeview on D1 so it is unlikely that we will see Satellite HD other than what Sky provides

Quality and Dick Smith aren't usually used in the same sentence. But good to hear its worked for you, some of those rf leads that were packed with vcrs and TVs etc were pretty crappy.
Brightwater isn't exactly an extreme range, its just not line of sight. Im picking up signals at Puponga from Mt Campbell and I still wouldn't call that extreme.
Good to hear your getting a good picture now, certainly is worth it if you can get HD.

ds. They have two oscillator frequencies to allow access to the bands. More common ones are 950/10600 with the 22KHz tone switching between the two oscillators. These LNBs are common in the EU as they have satellites that transmit in the low and high sat bands. To get to the high sat band, where the Freeview signal is at the moment, a setting of LO=10600+22KHz ON is necessary.
