Intermittent loss of picture and sound

Hi there I've had a DTVS-1 STB working with a satellite dish for a few years now, but notice random picture freeze/ loss of picture and sound for about 5-10 seconds and not weather related.

Sometimes when the picture returns the sound is out of sync, but changing channel and returning to original channel cures the sync.

Box is connected to TV via component input.

Thinking it may be the box I borrowed a brand new DishTV STB and still getting the same symptoms.

Any ideas welcomed?

Do you think a move from satellite dish to UHF aerial in Pukekohe area would be a better move?

If you can get Freeview HD reception (which you can check by entering your address here) then it best if you switch to UHF as you get more channels and better quality (HD) channels

Definitely, if reception is possible at your location. Terresrial is HD with multiple sound tracks (some channels) while satellite is really bad SD and 2 channel sound.
