Hi I had a new LNB fitted today,the tv guy checked it out and reckoned every thing was OK,5 hrs later I have the dreaded ''No reception....error.at the moment Tv one,Tv two,maori program are down,Any ideas would be appreciated.

Yes call them back to come and fix it. It might be that the dish needs a tweak or a loose connector or dodgy fly lead at the tv end.

 

The guy came back double checked everything,and then said he had no answers.

Did you retune after replacing the lnbf? it may be that your previously stored channels are set slightly at the wrong frequency.

e,g 12459 H instead of 12456 H etc

Hi, was it a faulty sky dual lnb that was replaced?

If it was your freeview maybe set for the lnb drift 10745/10742 and needs to be changed to 10750

One would think that any Pro Installer worth his salt, having changed the LNB, would have checked all the setup setup parameters and found any problem at the first callout. If he's been back and can't figure out what's wrong then he sounds pretty useless to me. It ain't rocket science. I'd be inclined to get somebody else to come and diagnose and repair then send the bill to the original guy. Check their credentials and references first too.
