No sound

Have purchased a Zygo freeveiw box and have no sound when using a HDMI cord to the TV, its fine when using a RCA lead. I have tried a different HDMI lead in a different HDMI port on the TV but still no go. this is the third box the shop have supplied to us and all are the same. The HDMI leads are fine when plugged into the DVD player.

Check your STB menu (and manual). You may need to turn on sound output via HDMI. It may not be on by default. I don't have access to a Zygo manual but there's usually an HDMI output setup somewhere in the Menu.

I located a manual and although it says you can alter resolution on HDMI it doesn't actuall specify if HDMI out carries sound or not. Josh

OK all sorted as far as sound goes, my neice came by and found the setting for the sound in HDMI setting, switched it from digital to analog and it works. Bit of a pitty the shop couldn't tell us that. Was a bit hard to find so I couldn't tell you how she got there but wasn't obvious in the set up.
