Hi. We are living in a caravan at Mangawhai Heads with a satellite dish on the roof. We find the channels by winding the dish up and down and spinning it to the right angle. We had all channels tuned in with our SatmaxPlus S1612 reciever. Then a few weeks ago we lost channels 1 and 2 but could get the rest. Last week we lost all channels and no searching can get them back. All cords seem to be in place, and nothing else has changed, so any ideas of what may be wrong?

Your LNB has most likely died.

Hi Mary

Biggles is right, the LNB which is the little machine on the front of your satellite dish will need to replaced and this can be purchased from a range of stores including online such as TradeMe.  You can find more information on how to install the new LNB here http://freeviewforum.co.nz/forum/topics/freeview-satellite-adjustin...

I hope this information helps, and let us know if you have any further questions

Kind Regards, Joshua

Thanks for that. The funny thing is that we replaced it about a year ago, do they die that quickly?

It depends on what brand/type and how much it cost. Cheaper brands tend to last for 1-2 years although it all varies on weather and conditions,

My Northland Holiday Home LNB is a SHARP and has never been replaced since 2009 and a strong signal still remains and works 100%
