Since the recent Freeview update, I have been unable to use my external hard drive with my Freeview unit. I simply receive the above error message on my TV screen. I have even tried plugging in an alternative external hard drive, but it has made no difference. Any ideas what has gone wrong please?

What Freeview update would that be?

Any updates (Freeview or Device Firmware) shouldn't affect Hard Drive use so it may be an unrelated problem. Have you tried a Factory Reset?

It was either last week or the week before. I was watching tv and it completed an automatic update in the middle of my programme, including a reboot.

I have just tried the factory reset and it has made no difference.

Hi Jo

I will investigate this with our team as that should not be happening.

I will get back to you on what the team has found.

Thank you :)

Hi Jo,

I have sent a friend request, I am wondering if you can private message me an email address so we can contact you if we need further info?

No, Tina :( I've done the factory reset and that didn't work. I've pm my email address as requested, but haven't heard back as of yet.

The external hard drive has been reformatted, and I no longer have this error message. HOWEVER I now have a new error message when I attempt to book any programme on any channel: "This programme cannot be booked at this time. Please try again later. (Code - 2)".
