Seems to be a lot of people having this problem lately and appears to be something to do with some brands of recorder not recognising some of the EPG content properly. Using timer record will solve the problem in the interim till fixes become available. Never had these problems in the old VCR days before EPG, G-Code etc. Timer record was all there was and always works.
what sort of epg do you get when a code 2 error appears?
.
the easy way around that is just do it manual y,eg go to timer recordings page, new, start time, end time, channel
hi it appears to be a normal epg with program details etc thanks
I've been having this issue with my magic tv (3700) since the first of may although I seem too be able too record the next programme on in the epg. I can also set the timer too record (phew) My freeview installer said it's an issue with magic tv's firmware so I'm resigned too waiting for a firmware upgrade, who knows how long that will take. Tried ringing dish tv but they didn't really want too know so no help there.
hi,whos the agents for magic tv,if enough of us ring it might make a difference,it was an expensive box bought for its recording abilities and its frustrating to have to timer record everything

Hi, that (according too mymagictv.co.nz) would be Dish Tv. I wonder how well they support their own freeview boxes
Hi Guys
Magic TV is supported under Dish TV Technologies, you will need to contact them regarding firmware issues and the Code 2 error,
Dish TV support has been excellent recently and are readily available to go through troubleshooting steps, just make sure you provide as much information as possible!
Kind Regards
Joshua
I have just spoken too a Dish Tv rep, who said this problem is only happening in this area and particular recorder and they are still working too fix it. He said it's not a firmware issue (my freeview installer thought it was) So still waiting :/

Hi Andrew,
Thank-you for the update with Dish TV, and clearing up that is is a issue with a specific area transmission not the units firmware.
Will you be contacted back from Dish TV when find a solution? If so could let us know here, or if you find that the issue has been resolved automatically please let us know :-)
Kind Regards
Joshua
Hi Joshua, they didn't say anything about contacting us when it is fixed so i guess it's just wait an see. Not much we can do about it (unless one wants too give magic tv the flick) Meanwhile as has been mentioned timer recording still works it's just a bit more fiddling around. I have too say dish tv were more helpful this time round.
