Hi there. :)

I am looking at purchasing a suitable FSM(field strength meter/signal meter) for both DVB-S and DVB-T, but the EXACT standard used by Freevew NZ seems very hard to find, so can anyone link me to, or tell me the codec specifics please?

I need to know that, to ensure that whatever FSM I decide to buy, will actually be able to look at the digital signal as transmitted here.  Will any meter that can look at DVB-S/S2 and DVB-T/T2/C work or do I need to look for something more specific?  Satellite should be painless enough, it is the terrestrial Freeview that concerns me because it seems to be something different to the rest of the world's DVB-T standards.

Currently looking at the SATLINK WS6980 unit.

Thanks. :)

In NZ we only have DVBS and DVBT . T2 (igloo) has shut down. Freeview is making noises about transmitting in DVBS2.

Problem with those cheap meters is your lucky if you get one that works. I went through 3 of them. Same firmware different branding.

You can have a look at some of the specs for Freeview at this link: http://www.freeviewnz.tv/company/equipment-supply-chain/

I'm not too sure if that is what you are looking for but provides some insightful information on specs.

Cheers, Josh

I have two Spectrum Analysers, both Unaohm , an AP01 an older B/w EP 314 and a handheld Satellite only meter DMS 500 from memory. Pm me if you're interested
The No's may not all be correct, I'm overseas and can't check.
