Ok here is my problem, I have a FreeView box installed in my car and all has been working fine up until a couple of weeks ago, when you do a auto scan it finds the TVNZ and Mediaworks mux on CH32 and 34 but when the tuner hits the Kordia Mux (CH36) it stops (as it should do) looks for the channels then carries on but has not detected the channels on that Mux. Now if I do this on manual tune the Mux is a solid 100% (CH36 594.000Mhz) it looks for the channels but comes up with nothing??
The problem is only with the Kordia mux. The tuner was working fine on the Kordia mux unit I went to retune for CTV. Have tried two other tuners and they are doing the same thing.

UPDATE: Rung FreeView and I am not the first person to complain about this, they are going to email Kordia and let them know....

I'm in Rangiora, with a Magic tv 3600. I have never been able to get CTV. Is this a Kordia / MTV compatibility problem?

I have an MTV 3600TD. I can receive CTV but still seem to be having program guide issues. You may wish to retune your unit if you haven't already done this, alternatively if it's an older unit (and by now they are getting old) you might want to update the firmware.

Ok question are you getting Prime, Maori TV, Chinese TV etc?? if you are not yes it is the Kordia MUX, it is STILL a problem with a number of DVB-T tuners Nation wide, I have rang Kordia a number of times and the customer backup and response it pathetic....
Yes, all of them, except CTV.I've never had it.

Hi Paul, are you getting your DTT signal from Sugarloaf?

I assume so. I thought it was the only transmitter in our area. I'm horizontally polarised. I've got a UHF Yagi with a Gizmo added. I wouldn't have thought it was a reception problem. I get a good signal on Ch36, which, if I understand it correctly, is the channel I need.

I can confirm there is still an issue with the Kordia mux and is affecting a number of tuners giving mixed problems from not detecting and channels on the mux to not detecting CTV. Over the past few weeks have tested lots of different brand DVB-T tuners some don’t have an issue and some do. All are only with the Kordia mux and both the TVNZ and MediaWorks muxes are working fine on ALL tuners. I have rung Kordia numerous times and they don’t seem overly interested which is in my opinion very poor. I strongly suggest ringing Kordia on 04-550 5123 and lodge the fault with them. I will try to ring them again today!!

Cheers

Mike

Does this issue affect any Freeview approved receivers?

Bump- does this issue affect freeview approved receivers?

Yes it does, it is affecting Sony's "PlayTV" and know a number of people with MyFreeview who still can't receive CTV and that is off Sugar Loaf heaps of "non approved" receivers are suffering as well. Remember the issue is ONLY on the Kordia mux and it was working fine up to 3 to 4 weeks before CTV came on board.

The disappointing thing is when I ring Kordia they take my details and say they will look into it and ring me back but never hear from them.....pretty slack in my opinion!!

I'm sure someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't think Sony's play TV is approved. If it affected a lot of approved boxes, wouldn't there be a lot more complaints about this?

PlayTV is FreeView approved
