I posted the below on Maxines page as it seems we are again having the same issues with freeview not working. It works perfectly up to the point you click on the actual episode to start to play, and then it goes absolutely nowhere, just displays the logo of whatever channel hosts the specific show.

I’m having the EXACT same issues. When it started it was instant annoyed total recall of what happened last year.

Ive tried doing everything like Maxine has, deleting freeview, checking if it’s up to date, leaving the tv etc all turned off. It’s not my broadband and it’s also again, not affecting the TVNZ stand alone app which I’ve just tried and it works.

Unfortunately for me I have a lot of shows on bravo that I was in the middle of, and I relied on freeview to watch these so I didn’t record them, seems a stupid mistake on my part as it seems obvious we can’t really rely on the freeview app to work at all. Maybe you should just start a YouTube channel ?

I am also having issues with freeview on demand. Work, then stall, then take ages to load. I don't have issues with the internet. Was fine yesterday, but today, channel 2 on demand is giving me issues.

‘sorry to hear you’ve jumped on the bandwagon of no freeview, just in case you don’t know, for TVNZ shows they have a stand-alone app you can use instead of freeview and it’s working fine, well it was yesterday ... 

it’s in the App section on your tv.

This should be resolved, could you please switch off your TV and try an Ondemand show and let me know if it is working. If not please let me know.

Are you able to test to see if Freeview OnDemand is working as we released a fix yesterday afternoon, if you are still having issues please let me know. 

Usually Switching the TV from the wall and turning it back on will help refresh things a bit.

Working now, just get a few stalls now. Sometimes is fast forwards like watching a youtube video on a faster setting. Working, just a few hiccups now and then.

so sorry I didn’t reply until now, I got super busy yesterday and totally forgot to try it out. 

you’ll be glad to know it’s now working, I didn’t change anything at all and I tried it with 2 shows before adding the app back to my home bar at the bottom and trying again and it still works. One thing I’d mention that I found/find odd is that the shows now all show the 1 hr later station such as Bravo+1 etc and when this issue started that was the very first thing that I noticed was different before it all went to hell. And it’s still all showing the +1 stations, but no errors as of yet. It’s probably nothing, but I thought I’d just mention it.

Add me to the list. Been a few weeks now since we've been able to watch anything at all on the Freeview app on our Samsung TV. I'm emailing with support but so far nothing has changed despite apparent fixes being made.

My belief is it's the advert serving that is at fault. My wife pointed out we've had problems around the ad breaks before and indeed what's the first thing after the channel logo when everything is working? Yup... ads.

The TVNZ app works. Just. We've been using TVNZ and THREE apps on Apple TV, but the TVNZ app there has some woeful problems, like an inability to pause and, my favourite, playing the soundtrack for two different episodes at the same time!

To think I used to get annoyed when Netflix change the order of the home rows so often. The Netflix app - on any platform - is a shining example of how to make a good app. Rock solid and pretty good UX, too.

Sorry to hear that your still having problems and I hope it’s not a sign of things going belly up again for the rest of us! Since my last post freeview’s worked fine for me. You’ll find the staff on here are really good at helping out so fingers crossed they can fix you up soon :)
