Hi all
I have a Homecast recorder which needs a new power card ( and a software update)
The support people for NZ have been DTVSolutions
They seem to have disappeared; no answer to phones, latest comment on their blog is 2014, etc
Does anyone know of an alternate support agency for NZ?

DTVSolutions  website seems to be active although I see what you mean about their Forum.

Hi Biggles, thanks for your reply. 

I began with their website; no answering of either phone, and the address is now Christchurch, which is not the Porirua address on their website...according to an email response to my email to them, which was received not on their letter head etc...so I am wary of sending my Homecast to a scam...

so was asking if anyone has dealt with them in their Christchurch address; or preferably, if anyone knows of a north island company which repairs Homecast

Hi,

DTVS phone lines have been down for one day due to some equipment issue. Lines should be up now. You can send an email via the website.

Forum registration was closed due to spamming and targeting. The forum still operates but postings are for new and more recent products.

I was about to start calling Harvey Norman et al to see who they use.

The new address may be legit, but it just felt a bit unbusinesslike to me, and the chap signed himself Anil, but gave no explanations for all the changes.

You are reading too much into this. I personally look at the HT9200DTR and I am currently based in Canterbury so I asked you to send the product to me. If you insist on sending the product to Wellington, you may do so to the address mentioned on the website but as I mentioned to you in the email, there is no one in Wellington at the moment and your product will not get looked at until I go there.

Also, it has just been brought to my attention that someone has sent a rumour that DTVS has gone "bust". There is no truth in this.

thank you so much for your reply and clarification. 

Given the numbers of spams perpetuated these days, I was trying to use cross checking and to be careful, and the combination of no phones, no letterhead and a different address to that on the website made me feel very cautious. I hope you are not offended. 

I am reassured by your reply, and will courier my Homecast to you in Christchurch. 

I will also confirm to my local tech that DVTS is able to assist me.

Given the number of differing addresses on the Company Register it all looks a bit dodgy to me. Registered Auckland. Home address Porirua. Shareholder in Australia. Plus also a Christchurch address.

Nothing dodgy about Anil. I have been doing business with him for many years and have found him to  very honest and reliable. And would not hesitate in dealing with him again. In fact being a smaller business you get a more hands on service and his product is some of the best you can buy.
