Hi all, YES, another database empty problem. My daughter has a ZeaTek HD 8000PVR freeview unit. She connects freeview to ther TV via a HD connector. It has worked fine up until we moved it Sunday 15/03/15 from south Waikato to Ngaruawahia. Plugged the Sky UHF aerial in. Did the TV search and had the "database empty" fault appear.  We tried the factory reset several times but still no joy. I checked the aerial & sky dish were all ok with no breaks, all OK. Not sure what to try next. Any advice much appreciated.

You have an antenna/cabling problem or your address is not in a FreeviewHD reception area. If it's an old Sky UHF antenna it will probably be well past it's use-by date and in poor condition. Sky haven't used UHF for years. Check you street address here to make sure you can receive UHF. Also make sure the co-ax cable is actually connected to the antenna.

The ZeaTek requires a UHF aerial to work with Freeview, please make sure you separate where the Satellite Dish Cable is plugged into and where the UHF aerial cable is. Make sure that the UHF aerial cable is plugged directly into the back of the ANT in socket of the ZeaTek.

Looking at your coverage, it looks like you can receive Freeview via UHF however depending on your environment the signal path from your UHF Antenna to the transmitter might be interrupted.

thanks, will check

thanks, I wondered about the signal strength? They haven't had a TV let alone sky for about 2-3 years in their home. I'll probably end up having a technician come out and check everything over.
