One day we turned on.our free view (s7070r) and there was no signal it worked fine the previous evening. We've so far tried retuningetting it, realigning the satellite which neither worked. We decided to try replace the LNB because we figured that must be the only thing that could go wrong. By the way I took our free view decoder back to noel leeming and they tested it and it was working fine. We have no idea why we're still not getting any signal. We can only think.maybe it's a setting we have wrong or something. any ideas?

They all look pretty good to me. Only thing I can see is Optus D1 is 160 East not West.

And possibly try polarisation H instead of both.

Can't really see why it's not working like it does in Noel Leeming store. Although the lack of signal strength and quality would indicate no connection between the STB and the dish.

Might be time to get a Pro installer to investigate?

OK i tried those two things and still no luck. Yes you're probably right might need to get a pro in. Only thing is we are rural so will probably cost me an arm and a leg. Was hoping it would be an easy fix.

Thanks for all your help anyhow :-)

Only other thing I can suggest before getting a Pro to look -  take it back to Noel Leeming, get it setup then take note of all the readings when it's working and the only thing that would need changing when you try at home again would be the LNB frequency if yours is different to the one in store.

If that doesn't work then it's definitely a dish/LNB/Co-ax problem.

P.S. As an afterthought. I see you're in Rangiora. Why not get a FreeviewHD box or TV and a UHF antenna so you can watch in HD instead of the terrible SD off satellite?

see if your new lnb is orientated like so

calles skew, some makes of lnb have the socket straight down ,most like a 45 deg angle

if you get random signal and quality readings = poor connection somewhere

and having a date like 1980 wont help the epg

As Biggles said, the product looks fine but something is happening between the dish and or LNB or the settings itself.

Noel Leeming will be your best bet, ask them about Freeview HD and what they provide in terms of installation services for your property.

Hi i've decided to get a tech out. They are coming today. We aren't too fussed about the quality of our tv so don't really want to spend a ton on getting HD. The picture we got when everything was working was perfectly fine for us. So we will just fork out the fee to fix whatever is happening with ours.

Thanks
