Will your tv do freeview without the igloo box which is an unecessary distraction?
And your aerial should be either vertical to the skytower or horizontal to waiatarua
On igloo theres a page either menu,installation,info or menu,info which will give no s like xxdBuV, xxC/N,higher no s the better

If you get pixellation due to weather then you need to look at your antenna system.

What are you using and where is it pointing? Do you have the correct polarity.

Picture of the antenna might help.

Can you see the Waitakeres or Sky Tower from your roof?

I believe that the aerial is pointing in the right direction / polarity. If it wasn't, then why am I getting TV3, C4, etc clear as a bell, but Not TVNZ channels?

It's possible you may get some channels whatever the direction and polarity of the antenna. Even if it's lying in the roof or the ground you may get something. However for maximum efficiency it needs to be clear of all objects, pointing at the Transmitter and with the correct polarity. Have you checked the signal strength of the Mux that you are receving (check in the Menu)? Which Transmitter are you pointing at?

if the aerial is too far to one side of the transmitter will pick up signals very randomly

wheres the photo? ideally from the south
