It may be like when our area shutdown ,  a drive up the hill was needed to turn off the Tararua regional TV transmitter . ( No remote shutdown )   They never made it to digital !!

TV central lucky dd make it to digital , and may now have the final say that they were last to switch off their analogue Tx in New Zealand (they are still on air as at 10.50am)

11.00pm and TV Central is still blasting away!!!

At least all those people in the Waikato and BOP, who never got round to switching to digital in time, had something to watch today!

Strange that it would stay running and not be actively switched off. Going Digital have been quite particular about ensuring compliance on DSO. No big deal really though.

It was still transmitting about 11-00am this morning, but I've just checked and it's gone now. So NZ is NOW completely digital!

Their claim to fame - they were most likely the last commercial analogue TV broadcaster in the country to switch off - good on you TV Central
