Does anyone know if it is possible to bypass the EPG and record solely by time?
For instance, if we want to record one programme after another on, say, TV One, at the moment the first programme's end will be cut off as the second one starts (I have the 'start' at just 1 minute prior to cover the odd situations when TV One starts a programme early).
What I would like to do is set the start and end times of my own choosing, e.g. 1930 to 2145.
Or are we stuck with EPG?
Thanks for any advice.

Depending on your STB you should be able to set timer recordings , My DishTv S7070R can do this by pressing the timer button on remote and then inputting the relevant time / channel etc.
Of course it's possible. I do this all the time on my Panasonic Recorder when I wan't to record two or three consecutive programs and also when I want to make sure I don't miss an early start or overly overtime program. Also timer record is the only way possible to record from my Sky decoder or any other external input. The EPG seems to have been developed to make life easy like G Code was supposed to with VCRs. Both of them far from reliable.
See Network Status page for updates.
