Hi,
We've had Freeview for only about a year and it has worked well even during the worst storms, until lately... now, any time it rains at all we lose signal. I went out and wiped the LNB dry to see what would happen, and "presto!" perfect signal returned (temporarily) - obviously running outside to wipe off the LNB every few minutes is  Not a solution :D
So, what IS the solution?  Does the LNB need replacing or perhaps just a slight re-alignment?
Cheers, DJ

Replace the LNB. It sounds like it is dying. Minor realignment may or may not help.

Hey DJ

Biggles is right, the LNB may need to be replaced as overtime it does age, you can obtain one from local retailers or online like Trademe.

or the dish has moved

or a tree has grown in front of the dish

I have struck that on several occasions with tree obstructions . On a sunny day check around  1 20 pm to see if the dish is full sunlight .But rem   Oct to March the sun will be higher in the sky at that time that Optus D1 , so a rough guide only   . The best is  1st week of April  and 1st week of  Sept when the sun is at the same altitude as the Clarke belt !!  ( Sun Transit Time )

Other issues is with the UV ,  the plastic throat cover cracks over time and water gets into the feed horn !!

We were all dubed. The only solution is ..... buy a bigger dish. That's it. Dislike digital networks, prefer analogue. Storm, hail, alien invasion, still could get reception on analogue.
