Since the re-tune on 1 May, I have been missing channels such as Al Jazeera, TVSN, YesShop and CUE. I am in an apartment building that uses a shared aerial but the building manager has told me it is probably not the modulator that is causing the issue because I am the only one who has reported problems. Can anyone tell me if it is likely to be a problem with the aerial jack in my apartment or if it could be an issue with the TV which has Freeview built in? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It will be an issue with your building's distribution system as those channel moved to a new mux and the system probably needs an extra decoder/modulator to cope with the problem.  Check with your neighbours and get them to complain too.

Thanks for your quick response! I've been in touch with my building manager about the extra decoder/modulator but he still maintains it is not a problem on his end because he hasn't received any other complaints and he says Freeview is working fine for him. Is there any other possible cause for this problem that you can think of?

Not unless you have a Sky modulator on the same frequency.

It may be working OK for him but has he actually tried to watch Al Jazeera, TVSN, YesShop and Cue?

If he can receive them OK then probably not a building distribution fault. If he can't then his problem to sort out.

P.S. This thread makes interesting reading and I suspect is relevant to your problem.

Hi Regan
Thanks for posting!

A few months ago, I had a friend who had the same issue, with countless talks to the owner saying everything is "fine on their end " she eventually told them to get a technician to look at the issue and eventually he found a fault in the wall outlet and could get Freeview back up and running

Have you tried that?
Hope this information can provide some light?

Kind Regards

Joshua

Thanks for your comment! My landlord is getting a technician in to check whether there is an issue within our apartment. If they find no issue I'll go back to the building manager

I have lost Ajazeera too in Whangarei NZ. Can anyone tell me how to get it back?

Thanks for everyone's help. The technician came in and checked the connection with his meter and confirmed that the problem is at the building aerial end so the building manager is getting onto it now!

So the building manager has had another modulator put in for the signal changes but I'm still not getting any of these channels. Is there any other possible reason why I'm not getting the channels?

Ask him what channel/frequency the new modulator is using and you should be able to tune it.

Will this work without a separate decoder? I have Freeview in-built in my TV

Yes. All you have to do is tune your TV to the new modulator's channel.
