Morning Glen

According to the attached device list you have, here is the following:

  • aerialBox T2100: EXT4
  • DishTV T5050: FAT32
  • DishTV S7080: FAT32
  • DishTV S7090PVR: FAT32

The units will be able to format this for you via the Media Manager

Hope this info helps, let us know if you need any further assistance.

FAT32 is the drive format. I'm after the file format and codec.

ie:.mpg, .mov or.avi and H264 or Prores 422 QT

That wasn't what was asked.

What is the recorded file format??

I presume it's most likely a raw container such as  .ts or .tts like my Panasonic?

I'm interested in knowing too as I may be purchasing a Satellite PVR when I dump Sky. How easy is it to transfer recorded files to a PC for editing? My Panasonic is just drag and drop in Win 10.

File format is  : MPEG-TS

Here's the info  from mediainfo

Dishtv s7070r recording..

I am able to play this file directly with mediaplayer classic and VLC on Win7.

I have the klite codec pack installed.

Thanks for that Paul.

Most players will handle .mpg without difficulty and my VideoReDo editing software certainly does.

I wonder what format the UHF recorders use? Probably .ts at a guess?

not all .ts are the same

openbox ts and ultraplus ts seem different as neither box will play the others recordings although both play in mediaplayer classic
