Brand new machine, tried recording on the first day and it worked fine. Ever since then, My S7090 recorder wont record, or recognise that there is a completely empty 500GB of space...
Instead it tells me "Check HDD connection"...

Any ideas ya'll? Much appreciated.

Possible a faulty connection or faulty Hard drive there is nothing you can do to fix it without voiding warranty

Return to retailer for replacement.

I agree. Take it back and get a replacement.
