no reception

I have a Dish S9070PVR and every now and then I get the message "no reception check your cable/satellite. It seems to be happening more often and is totally random as it is also random when it resumes. Can anyone help? Thank you.

Are you by chance using an ex Sky dish,'or if not have you checked the Signal & Quality readings when ok & in fault conditions?

Hi John - yes I am using an old sky dish. Not sure how to check signal and quality readings - cann you please enlighten me. Thanks.

It depends on your receiver , you may find it by pressing the info button, or by going into the setup/ installation menu
