Hi,

Our 1TB disk is getting full so I am doing the SATA to USB copy. Can we play the copied media on the PC or they can only be played via the Freeview decoder?

Please advise. Thanks.

If you mean you are copying from your PC 1tb drive to an external USB HDD drive then it should be no problem. Should play anywhere.

Hi,

I mean I am copying the recorded programs from the FreeVIew SATA to USB.

It seems to be copying but underneath it it has some warning of some sort saying Unable to play content. After the copy I try to play the copied .mpg file on VLC on the PC, that does not work. I thought maybe it can only be played from the FreeView decoder so we plug the USB into the decoder and then attempted to play it there, it does not play either.

So, a bit lost what is the point of the SATA to USB copy if I can't re-play them from the USB by any means?

OK

I just had a look thru the T2200 (I think that's what you are using) manual and as far as I can tell you can record to USB Drives which can then be used on other DishTV units but not other devices such as a PC. I don't see anywhere in the manual that you can copy files between drives.

try media player classic

or download freestudio and convert to something like mp4 or mprg
