dish tv s7080 record bookings

why do my record bookings suddenly vanish for example last friday i book forbidden kingdom which is on this friday and die hard 4 which is on this sunday i just checked booking list and they had vanished i had to rebook them

Not confined to Dish TV equipment as it happens sometimes on my Panasonic. Usually because of changes in the EPG when it's updated. That can cause breaks in series linking. Examples - 2 series back to back, 2 week break between episodes and different program (such as live sports) aired in between, or even just a normal EPG update. Basically you shouldn't rely on the EPG for booking programs and should check bookings often. It 's only a guide. If you want to record a MUST record show then use timer record.

Hi Leon

There have been cases with recording issues with the initial firmware of the Dish TV S7080, we have since released a new update which is available that may correct some of the EPG issues, in saying this as Biggles has pointed out, it is best to check the EPG weekly or the night before to see whether the unit has retained that booking.

Below are the instructions to install the latest firmware for your device.

1. Access the Dish TV Firmware site here: http://www.dishtv.co.nz/support/downloads.htm

2. In the first table, look for "satBox plus s7080"

3. Download the .exe file beside it (blue icon for a Windows PC or the yellow icon for Mac users)

4. Follow the instructions given in the download.
