Has anyone in the Nelson region noticed an increase in pixelation, over most channels, since the big retune on the 1st May? Channel 3 seems particularly bad.

Cheers

Thanks SNM, willis, Josh, Gary and Speedbrake.

Hi Glynne, From my recollection, SNM is right - there was an issue a couple of weeks back which the transmission provider addressed.

Subsequent reception issues would be more likely an issue with the antenna or set-up.  If your installer believes there's a wider issue, it's best to ask him to contact the transmission provider to verify - he'll have the technical know-how to discuss the problem with the transmisison provider and provide further details if required.

Four +1 and EdgeTV starting at the end of the month.

Thank you for the information SNM.

I did a retune recently and have no further problems. Looks like the problem, for us, lay with the fibre cable from Blenheim.

I shall just sit back now, patiently waiting for more channels to be added. Hopefully not more shopping or religious.

Cheers

Thank you for letting me know. Hopefully the list will keep growing.

we are getting this as well.had an installer come and fit ariel etc for this reason. he mentioned this was quite a common problem in nelson, ours has been pixilating a little over the last week

If your still getting pixelation the problem lies elsewhere, The transmission issues in Nelson/Motueka area have been resolved.

What area are you in, might be the reception is marginal or there are other problems in your setup.

hi,thanks we are in central stoke on the flat,

Central Stoke should have a clear line of site to Mt. Campbell, Are you getting the Mainland channels? Theres  obviously something wrong with your setup.

hi setup should be fine as system was installed professionally less than 2 months ago,new ariel new cabling etc.ill get them to come back and check tho as it has been very windy of late

I am out near Brightwater and use the Nelson transmitter at it's extreme range. I used to get a lot of pixalation and 'No Service' on Mainland and Prime. I then bought some quality, $25 from Dick Smith, ariel cables to fit between the wall socket and the devices (Panasonic recorder through to the TV.) Works fine now.

Quality and Dick Smith aren't usually used in the same sentence. But good to hear its worked for you, some of those rf leads that were packed with vcrs and TVs etc were pretty crappy.

Brightwater isn't exactly an extreme range, its just not line of sight. Im picking up signals at Puponga from Mt Campbell and I still wouldn't call that extreme.

Good to hear your getting a good picture now, certainly is worth it if you can get HD.

Hope Dick Smiths doesn't read this haha. I thought Brightwater was nearly the limit for Kaka Hill as shown on their coverage map. We get a good signal anyway. As you say the rf leads given away by suppliers are no good at all.

How do find out about new channels in advance?

Cheers
