Hello,
I have a line of sight to the sky tower from Glenfield, North Shore. Our UHF x-type Antenna was pointing towards Waitarua (yes, I spelt it wrong), but whenever we experienced bad weather we would lose reception.I used a navigation compass app to ensure the antenna was pointing in the perfect direction.
I have pointed the antenna towards the sky tower and changed the alignment to suit the broadcast signal (vertical). Everything has been done to script, thing is we can't seem to get TVNZ. We get awesome signal for all other channels.
I have checked all the coverage maps, and ironically we appear to reside in an area overlapped by 3 transmitters, Pine Hill, Sky City and Waitarua (spelt wrong again).
We have a Aerialbox T1000 connected to a Samsung LCD. All the cabling was professionally installed. I have reflashed the firmware on the T1000 and yelled at the antenna several times.
Would appreciate some advice please :)

Have you tried manual tuning Ch28 for TVNZ? Sometimes not all channels are picked up with autoscan. Also check just what channels you are receiving and the signal strength. On Sky Tower and all other infill transmitters you should be on 28, 32, 34, 36. Waiatarua is Ch 29, 33, 35, 37. Sometimes autoscan can't make up it's mind if getting good signal from multiple sites.
However if you experienced loss of signal in bad weather that would indicate there is a fault or bad connection somewhere in the antenna system.
Hey Biggles,
Yes tried that. But I have just figured out what the problem was. The installer had adjusted the incline on the aerial, possibly to overcome obstacles on the hillside when pointed to Waiatarua. I adjusted it back to level and hey presto, my mother can now watch all the channels she wants.
Thank you for taking the time to address my issue :)
