Sumsaung TV directly connects to Satelite Dish (Sky Dish) cannot receive Freeview

Can you please guide me through how to make my TV receive Freeview channels?

My TV can only receives Foreign Channels.

TV model: Samsung UA55H6800AS

If it only gets foreign and religious channels will be looking at either opt us D2 satellite which is 8 degrees too far west or Intelsat 19 satellite which is 6 degrees too far east

If I buy a Freeview Satellite box attach to the TV, would it be easier to get Freeview Channels or should I get a TV Technician to come and have a look?

As Willis wrote you are picking up the wroing satellite, so yes I expect you need someone to come and repoint the dish.

No. Doesn't matter what box you use, if the Dish is pointing at the wrong satellite you won't be able to tune Freeview which is on Optus D1. You need to get an installer to check the Dish alignment and tune the TV. Unlike UHF a Dish antenna needs to be pointed very accurately to the correct satellite.

Hi Lit

I would like to reconfirm the answers from both nzdtv and Biggles and confirm that your dish will need to be realigned to receive the Freeview Channels, you can get a installer to do this however a DIY fix is just as easy and you can find some info on this here: http://freeviewforum.co.nz/forum/topics/freeview-satellite-aligning...
