Patchy reception

I have a Thompson t1851 UHF set top box in the Kapiti area. Reception is great on all channels but Prime and Choice, which constantly drop out. Any ideas why?

Sounds like your signal is borderline & you need to improve it.

I'm getting roughly 60% signal strength on TVNZ & Mediaworks services. Kordia supplied channels are less than 20% all from Ngarara transmitter. Shouldn't the signal be the same strength for all?

Not necessarily. Kordia (CH37 Ngarara) is much higher in frequency than the other Mux and your antenna system is probably not as sensitive/efficient at the higher frequency.

Cool, thanks.. A higher gain aerial should sort it hopefully? Or would a signal amplifier suffice?

60% signal is getting a bit too low

have a good look at all cabling and connections

might try lifting or lowering the aerial by 1/2metre
