Hello,I have an Panasonic tv with freeview built in.I have only rabbits ears aerial,I am in the Metro. Christchurch viewing area ,I am only getting 4 channels,Apna hindi,AL Jazeera,Yes shop, tvsn shopping, not very exciting those.

Anyway, when I do the auto search on the tv set the signal shows fairly strong with the rabbits ears 7 out of 10 on the scale, those channels mentioned are of good quality, does anyone know why I only can get tuned in to just the four channels ?

the tv goes through the whoie auto search phase but just tunes into RF Channel 28 with the 4 crappy channels.

 thanks for reading this.

Try tuning the other channels manually and check signal strength and quality. Quality is more important than strength.  If that doesn't work you may need a better antenna. Indoor antennae are notoriously poor for Freeview UHF. Also check the length of the rabbits ears. Should be fairly short (about 150 - 200mm each for UHF).

Biggles,Thank you for your suggestions, yes I think better aerial could be the answer,I tried all sorts, manually tuning and  shortening of rabbit ears etc.it just seems strange that the signal strength of the crappy channels available are very good and of high quality so why just  those channels and not pick up more ,thanks again Biggles !
