Obstruction from house

I have just moved to a unit which has a Sky satellite dish. My tv has DVB-T input and I am told that it will not work off the sky dish. The UHF terrestrial tower in Christchurch [Sugarloaf] is directy to the south of my unit. Line of sight to the tower is entirely blocked by a large two-storeyed house directly next door to me on the south side. It is about 15 metres away. Will this interfere with my reception and should I use a DVBT Freeview compatible aerial? Marlene

You need a UHF antenna and the large house in the way shouldn't be a problem.

Hi Marlene

You should definitely get it tested out, ideally if you are in close proximity of Sugarloaf then you be alright, however get someone to test a temporary setup and then decide on what to use, UHF or Satellite :)

UHF is prefered as it saves you on getting a Satellite Unit.
