I’m using a satellite to receive built in Freeview on newly purchased Samsung TV.

Prior this I had a Freeview box and had no issues receiving all channels (TV3 and TVNZ), but since using the built in Freeview and new tv I can only pick up TVNZ channels.

Any help or info would be greatly appreciated

Mostly built-in Freeview works of a UHF aerial. Unless the tv has a built-in satellite tuner you will need to use a UHF aerial. If you used a push-in plug that will be UHF. If you used a screw-in plug on the TV there may be issues with the satellite dish. Hope this helps.

Thanks for reply. I have a satellite tuner, I’m picking up TVNZ channels fine just not TV3. We don’t have UHF Freeview in Central Otago yet unfortunately

Are you getting Prime? Either you've only scanned one transponder or there's a problem at the dish.

No I don’t have prime either. The dish seemed fine immediately before swapping to the new setup (I.e. we had all channels).

Maybe a have only scanned one transponder then... what’s the other one called?

Really appreciate your help with this. Thank you

But probably best to factory reset the TV and start again and scan on Freeview not all free channels

Hi Kim

A Auto or Blind scan will help solve this issue, if this issue still persists then please let us know and we can look into this further.

Cheers

I picked up a few extras using the transponder numbers above, but they are mainly sky channels that I don’t have access to. Still no tv3 channels :/

Josh - can you advise on how to run the scans you mention?

Thanks all for your input and help

Sounds like your LNB settings may be wrong. Try changing the local oscillator settings from 11300 to 10750 or vice-versa.  The best option though would be to do a factory reset then find your LNB settings and autotune Freeview from there.

Hi Kim,

Each TV will vary depending on the model, Have a quick glance at this website from Samsung, https://www.samsung.com/nz/support/tv-audio-video/freeview-receptio...

Generic Sequence is Menu > Channels > Auto Tune > Satellite
