Hi, suddenly I got a message No signal using an outdoor aerial antenna. I have tried using an alternative cable, box etc but in vain.  What can you advise please? Thank you!

Hi Freesia66

Its best to check your aerial or satellite dish (depending on which Freeview service you use)
as this may have moved or altered that can cause disruptions to your viewing,

Strong weather usually causes this and sometimes over a few years the aerial can loosen, ensure that it sturdy and not loose, check to see if there is any damage caused on the cable.

Let me know if you need further assistance,

Kind Regards
Joshua

Thank you, Joshua, we checked everything.  Antenna hasn't moved, swapped cables, swapped boxes, nothing helps.  We use one outdoor aerial with my flatmate through the splitter, his TV works well.  Mine shows: No signal. Can it be the TV as it's quite old Sony? Thank you. Tatiana

Have you tried using your box on his TV?

Do you still get the boxes Menu on your TV? If so that rules out your TV as the problem.

No, I haven't tried using my box on his TV, I will try today.  Yes, I have menu and the list of all channels on my TV.  So, you think, it is the box?

In that case it is either the box or a cable/connector problem. Could be a number of reasons but first check all the antenna connections thoroughly then see if it works on his TV. If it does then it's definitely a cable problem. If it doesn't then the box may be dead. Trying a factory reset may help.

P.S. Have you tried all channels? We suddenly got a "no signal" on TV1 the other night (Sony TV) but other channels were OK. Turned out to be just a short break in transmission.

Yes, I have tried all channels.  Also tried a different box - the same No signal message.  Might try different cable as the one I tried was a cheap one from $2 shop.  What a pain :-(

What is factory reset? Thank you for your help, guys!

OK. If you tried a different box then it's got to be the cabling somewhere. Those cheap ones can be a real problem. Then again so can some expensive ones. Make sure the splitter connections are OK. Could try swapping the splitter outputs and see if your flatmate's stops working.

Factory reset should be somewhere in your menu and sets everything back to original factory settings i.e. have to set up from original out of box settings.

We swapped the splitter outputs and his TV worked. Will try another cable and try my box on his TV.

Tomorrow will try to reset the box to the factory settings. Thank you very much!

aerial connection corrosion?

Thank you, Edster.  I tried everything, swapped boxes and tried indoors antenna.  Looks like coaxial cable is broken - there is No signal message, like dead.

I've had the same issue the last few days, continual messages in the afternoons saying no signal and then the program starts again for 5 mins and then back to no signal.  Very frustrating, but neighbours have told me they have had the same problem going on for a week.   I have 2 TV's and both are affected.  Would be most unusual for so many people to suddenly experience aerial or cable problems at once or at the same time on separate TV's in same house

Thanks all, the issue was the receiver - it stopped working.  I bought a new one.  Still get No Signal message, because areal needs elevation.
