Hi, we seem to have lost our signal completely! Wondering if its the satellite, is there a way to check what part of the satellite dish is wrong? Think its the lnb not the freeview box. Please help if you can, we live rural and so it will be a mission to get a techy, and or go to town to buy the parts only to find when we get home its the wrong part... etc

Hey Sioux,

Not sure if you've already done these:

1. Reconnect the cable and restart the receiver / box

2. Check signal strength on TV ONE (1), TV3 (3) and Prime (10), if signal strength is less than 80% then it's most likely something wrong with the satellite dish (have a look at the User Guide for your receiver on how to check signal strength; on some receivers you can press the INFO button on your remote twice to check).

If it's a dish problem, check out Josh's link for satellite help - some great stuff there.

Or might be worth calling an installer (esp. if you haven't had the satellite dish checked in the last 5-10 years).

hi signal strength was 0 % on all of them the other day. I see there is another suggested place I can look for assistance, so back on this mission today, after taking a day off yesterday!

Cheers I was thinking the local sky installer might be a next port of call....

cheers just did that, wasn't able to move the lnb just twist the wire slightly.... new lnb arriving today with a family member from town :-)

Ok, so we still have no signal! We have a new LNB now, took ages to get the old one off, rusted on there good and solid. Now at the stage of trying to get a signal! My uncle is bringing his freeview receiver over also, so we can double check that its not our receiver, that the problem was /is indeed the lnb....
