Hi. I am trying to install a new dish 7070 sat receiver in Kawerau.
Sat dish installed and aligned approximately. Used sat finder, unable to locate satellites. Used a 2nd receiver and located and aligned to satellites. Replaced with new 7070, but still would not locate any channels. Did a manual satellite scan, this was successful, and so was channel search, but lo n behold, all I get on TV is "No reception. Check your cable / satellite dish."
When tuning, signal strength was 78+ and quality was 98%. Receiver works when connected to an existing setup.
Can anyone help me please

Hi Mashall,
When checking your signal level on the Set Top Box make sure that your have first put it onto Channel One or the transponder 12483.
The Transponders that TV3, Prime and a couple of others exist on other satellites close buy. So although you are getting a good signal, it may be off the wrong satellite.
Though you will not be far off if that is the case.
What channels were you receiving on the second receiver? You may be pointing at the wrong satellite. When you say "Receiver works when connected to an existing setup." are you referring to the 7070 on a different dish? If so tThis would definitely indicate your dish is pointing to wrong satellite.
On both receivers, there was no reception. and yes, I could setup on a 2nd dish. How do I get tuned to correct satellite? I have checked both azimuth and direction, and they must be close together
They are. Do a google search for Optus D1 and Optus D2. Only about 8 degrees apart and you want D1. You can tell which one you are on by the channels you receive on a blind scan. If neither are receving Freeview on your dish then it needs realigning. Also check you have set correct LNB frequency in the menu. The freq will be marked on the LNB on the Dish.
Hi Marshall, A similar question was posted earlier this week and the answer can be found here: http://freeviewforum.co.nz/forum/topics/problem-with-new-set-up?com...
Please let us know if you require any further assistance with tuning into Freeview using your receiver
