Hi - we are replacing an old TV which I think runds off a split cable from the TV in our lounge as it mirrors what is on on that TV. We purchase a new TV with built in Freeview but when I plug the ariel in it cannot find any channels. Do we need to install a new ariel? Please help?!

Depends.

What is your location i.e. are you in a Freeview UHF area?

What is your current antenna?

If the old one mirrors whats on the other it sounds like a Sky modulator in use?

More info on your setup needed before we can help.

Thx We are in Gisborne city, Think we have a satilite dish. The ariel goes under the house to connect so not sure how its connected - will have to wait for husband to crawl under the house and see!

OK

You will need a UHF antenna and need to be within a FreeviewHD coverage area.

You can find coverage maps here.

A satellite dish only works with a Sky box or Freeview Satellite box, not a TV (unless it's one of the really new ones with a satellite tuner).

Thanks for that - might buy and try a little portable one tomorrow
