new house but can't get freeview.

Moved into a new house. Can not get freeview. Modern home with the freeview aerial. I have a semi modern tv with built in freeview. Should be easy? Just comes up no signal. Any ideas?

Confirm you have connected a UHF antenna?

What location? Your profile just says New Zealand.

OK. Quick check of the coverage guide shows you are probably in a "very likely" reception area so I guess you have an antenna/cabling problem. Check all connections. Firstly check your UHF antenna is connected directly to the TV.

see if theres a small box on the aerial pole

often theres a masthead amp and the previous occupants have taken the power adaptor that runs the amp resulting in no signal
