Set up Panasonic DVD to record a series-Miss Fishers murder mysteries

All went well until this week when the programming page of the DVD announced that the next episode (last night) was not available. Fortunately we realised this in time and set it up to manually record. This series is ongoing as far as I can see and when I tried to set up the series again for next week through the on-line guide it worked.

Is this because TV one are running two series back to back but the free view guide recognises them as two separate series and therefore needs setting up as separate series. If so is there any way we can be forewarned of this?
